Had an epic long weekend at Vienna. Had a date with a couple of Rembrandts and Carvaggios and drank some nice beers in the sun.
A small update. Still a work in progress. Hopefully I can finish this one soon.
Stay tuned!
Nice little video From Spectrum Fantastic Art Live by James Gurney ( be sure to read his awesome blog at http://gurneyjourney.blogspot.com/)
Here’s my entry to a challenge at artorder.com.The point of the challenge was to design a character based on pre-existing content. I really enjoyed just simply designing a character for once instead of a full blown illustration. I did run out of time at the end though, should have started sooner.
Here’s an image I’ve been working on lately. Still a long way to finish- Will update this one soon.
Here’s a glimpse of something we’ve been working for the past few months. The expansion will include 6 new levels, all new enemies, new skills, a new story and lots more. This is just a quick teaser- official trailer to come.
Can’t wait for you guys to see what we’ve been up to!
This blog is so awesome that I just had to share it with you. It’s filled to the brim with awesome artwork from various Disney titles by Paul Felix. His pencil drawings are especially astonishing, such subtlety of values and feeling of movement are really rare.
I’ll go collect my jaw from the floor now.

Spent a few days in Finnish Lapland with my girlfriend and some friends. Now I’m back at work at the new Frozenbyte offices.
One of my very favorite artists has released a new DVD that takes us through the process of creating what I think is one of his best paintings. I bought it in a heart beat and you should too. You can find more info here
Sit at the right elbow of a highly recognized master of classical realism while he creates a masterwork oil painting - from concepts to final glazes.
In this film, Donato provides step by step narration as he creates Joan of Arc, from initial abstract concepts, reference gathering, and detailed preliminary drawing to the final application of oil paint and glazing mediums. His extensive professional knowledge and intimate trade methods provide the viewer rare insight into how to create a complex and detailed narrative work of art.
One DVD. 4+ hours long. All Regions
Phew, it’s been a while since my last update. Kind of a lot has been going on in the past few weeks. For starters I attended the Massive Black workshop in San Fransisco which was in a word, awesome. I learned a lot and met a bunch of cool people. I’m definitely attending one of those again in the future.
Also, we finally released Trine 2 on steam! It has been getting really good reviews and people really seem to be enjoying the game so that’s cool. You can get your copy here. The console release is around the 20th of december so keep your eye on that as well.
I think that’s all for now.
Spectrum is currently accepting submissions for Spectrum 19. This time I’m going to bite the bullet and probably submit something myself.
Here’s the info:
